 Re: The Running Board
What ever happened to your fancy language that lasted like 5 posts at SMN, Yossarian?

 Re: The Running Board
If it pleases you, I shall rekindle my passion for venturing into the more mysterious and the less explored depths of the great forest that is the mighty English language.
Basically,I been spending too much time reading internet boards. I also read a Clive Cussler book, which poured a fair bit of sand into my thinking apparatus.

 Re: The Running Board
Well, personally, I think overtly-strong vocabulary is completely unnecessary in getting your point across. For example.
"I shall rekindle my passion for venturing into the more mysterious and the less explored depths of the great forest that is the mighty English language."
and translated.
"I'll start using a stronger vocabulary again."
Bam. Same exact point, about 4 times more concise.

 Re: The Running Board
And the English language is less a "great forest" and more so a veritable mine-field; With one mistake spelling the decay of one's dignity, as every pious individual turns to reprimand you.
(No pun intended; They're the wretched spawn of the english language)

A prerequisite for fluid conversation, surely.

 Re: The Running Board
Alas, it plays second fiddle to content. Speaking of which, I still think the forum should be made a little wider.

 Re: The Running Board
That would be true, except that Yossarian gets paid by the word. Also, if you are named after a Joseph Heller character, you are kind of expected to drop at least one SAT vocab. word per paragraph.

 Re: The Running Board
I personally think there are too many sub-forums, as some have already stated. It just gets too cluttered and confusing, imo.

 Re: The Running Board
I think it'd be more cluttered and confusing if all the random topics were scattered throughout all the DEP related topics and you had to search all the titles to find what you were looking for.

 Re: The Running Board
The thing is, the discussions tend to become scattered and not as involving when they are spread out over so many forums. That's my experience anyways, but I might be wrong. I'm just happy with a proper forum anyway.

 Re: The Running Board
Yeah, we decided that after several months or so, if there's a subforum that just collects dust, we'll get rid of it. It's an experiment more than anything.
